Richard Lin, originally going by the name Lin Show-Yu, was a 20th Century Taiwanese painter and designer educated in Somerset, UK. Having later studied architecture in London, Lin’s academic experiences undoubtedly influenced his well-known structured, minimalist style. Lin’s drawings and more painterly work however, like those in Currell Collection, point back to Chinese, Taiwanese ink drawings, giving credit to the artist’s cultural heritage.
Artworks are included in public collections at the Tate Gallery, London; Arts Council, London; Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and several public institutions internationally.
